Adolf Schaube

Adolf Schaube (born December 16, 1851 in Ober Peilau ; † July 26, 1934 ) was a German high school professor and a Prussian member of parliament . As a historian, he wrote particularly about medieval economic and trade history.

Life

Schaube attended high school in Ratibor, Upper Silesia . After completing his studies, he worked from 1877 onwards at the grammar school in Hirschberg in the Giant Mountains . From 1889 he taught at the grammar school in Brieg, Lower Silesia .

Schaube has published various writings on medieval economic history, in particular on trade history. He wrote The Consulate of the Sea in Pisa in 1888 and the extensive trading history of the Roman peoples in 1906 . In addition to monographs, he also published numerous journal articles, in particular on the history of trade and commercial law in the yearbooks for economics and statistics , the journal for all commercial law and the journal for social and economic history . He also wrote about regional historical aspects of Silesia . During the First World War he published propaganda pamphlets in honor of Paul von Hindenburg or Wilhelm II.

Between 1899 and 1918 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . He was a free conservative and represented the constituency of Ohlau- War.
