Adolf von Senarclens-Grancy

Adolf Wilhelm Ferdinand Heinrich von Senarclens-Grancy (born September 19, 1805 in Grancy, † October 11, 1863 in Paris ) was major general in Hesse-Darmstadt, as well as a diplomat and chamberlain .

Life

origin

He was a member of the Vaud Uradelsgeschlechtes Senarclens-Grancy . His parents were César-Augute de Senarclens (1763-1836), Lord of St. Denis and Grancy and battalion commander of the Swiss Guard in France , and his wife Louise Marie Claudine Rose Elisabeth, née Loriol (1773-1836) from Etoy . His brother August Ludwig (1794–1871) was the Hessian head stable master .

Career

In 1831 he became the Grand Ducal Hessian Premier Lieutenant in the Garde du Corps . But also chamberlain in 1832 and chamberlain in 1836. In 1840 he received the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of Philip the Magnanimous and in 1847 the Russian Order of St. Vladimir 4th class . He became captain and major and in 1848 was appointed commander of the Garde du Corps. In 1853 he was appointed major general. In the same year he came to Paris, then Brussels and the Hague as Minister-Resident. On February 17, 1856 he succeeded Baron Franz Wambolt von Umstadt as envoy and plenipotentiary minister at the imperial French court in Paris. He died in Paris in 1863.

He received the Knight's Cross of the Order of Ludwig 1st Class on June 9, 1855 , Commander Cross of the Order of Philip the Magnanimous 2nd Class on August 25, 1857 and the 1st Class Commander Cross with the star of the Dutch Order of Lions and Grand Cross of the Spanish Order of Isabella the Catholic . On January 25, 1860, he received the Grand Cross of the Belgian Leopold Order .

family

In 1852 he married Johanna Sophie Henriette Gravelius (* 1811), the daughter of the teacher and postmaster in Gießen Philipp Ludwig Gravelius and Dorothea Caroline Bauer from Hersfeld. The couple had lived together since at least 1834 and had several children:

  • Marie (born June 9, 1845), lady-in-waiting ⚭ 1866 Julius von Muralt , captain a. D.
  • Adelheid (born October 7, 1846)
