Adrian Dunbar (born August 1, 1958 in Enniskillen , County Fermanagh , Northern Ireland ) is a British actor .

life and career

Adrian Dunbar was born the oldest of seven children. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic College in Enniskillen . He graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1983. Dunbar has been married to Australian actress Anna Nygh since 1986 . In 1987 their daughter was born.

Dunbar had his first film role in After You've Gone in 1984 . In the following years he was seen in the films Two Worlds and My Left Foot, among others. In 1991 he played Micky O'Neill in the film Hear My Song . He became famous for his role in the 1992 film The Crying Game . A year later, he was a guest for two episodes in the series Fitz For All Cases . Dunbar has also had minor roles in films such as Innocent Lies and Hell Next Door . In 1995 he also presented James Tyrell in the film Richard III. This was followed by roles in the miniseries Melissa and in the series The Jump . Since the turn of the millennium he can also be seen more often in series. He made appearances in Murphy's Law , Murder in Mind and The Whistleblowers . In 2008 he played the role of Philip Conolly in The Last Confession of Alexander Pearce . Dunbar gained further notoriety through his role as Martin Summers in the series Ashes to Ashes - Back to the 80s . However, his series character died at the end of the second season. After further guest appearances in the series Silk , Death in Paradise , Scott & Bailey and The Life and Adventures of Nick Nickleby , he has appeared as Ted Hastings alongside Vicky McClure in the BBC Two series Line of Duty since 2012 . He also had a small role in The Cop - Crime Scene Paris in 2013 .
