History and company

Headquarters of the Aduno Group in Zurich

It came into being in 2006 through the merger of Viseca Card Services SA, founded in 1999, and Aduno SA, founded in 2005, under the umbrella of Aduno Holding AG, to which Cashgate AG was added in 2008. The services of the Aduno Group include the issuing of credit and prepaid cards , consumer finance and deposit guarantees. These business areas are organized into independent companies under the umbrella of Aduno Holding.

In 2017, Viseca Card Services was one of the largest issuers of credit and prepaid cards in Switzerland, with 1.4 million cards in stock. Cashgate has been part of Aduno since January 1, 2008 and offers personal loans and leasing . On January 1, 2012, Cashgate took over 100% of the shares in Revi-Leasing und Finanz AG and fully integrated them in 2014.

In 2014 the Aduno Group acquired 100% of the shares in EuroKaution. In 2015 it was renamed AdunoKaution. In 2017 the Aduno SA business unit was sold to the SIX Group . From 2018, Viseca will process mobile payment payments for the cantonal banks of Aargau ( AKB ), Jura ( BCJ ) and Freiburg ( FKB ).

In September 2018, the Aduno Group announced the complete takeover of Accarda AG. Accarda belonged to Maus Frères Holding and was previously a subsidiary of Swisscom . Accarda specializes in customer management and is the Swiss market leader for customer cards with around 1.9 million cards (as of 2007) .

In April 2019 it became known that Viseca credit cards would be activated for the use of mobile payment . Negotiations with the providers are already underway and a positive conclusion is expected. Samsung Pay was activated in June 2019. Since Apple Pay has still not been integrated, Bank Cler is now using a virtual Visa card from Cornèr Bank for its direct smartphone bank Zak . In October 2019 Apple Pay and in March 2020 Google Pay were activated at the participating cantonal banks.

In August 2017, Aduno announced that it had increased its stake in the Swiss fintech startup Contovista from 14 to 70 percent. The complete takeover was announced in December 2019. In the same year Cashgate was sold to the Cembra Money Bank .

In the 2019 financial year, Aduno increased its sales by 5.4 percent to CHF 544.2 million. The annual profit fell in the same period by 44 percent to 58.3 million CHF. In April 2020 the Aduno Group announced that it would be renaming the company Viseca Holding in 2020.
