The Adventhaus Wilmersdorf is a church of the Adventist Church in the district of Wilmersdorf of the district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf of Berlin . The building was built between 1925 and 1927 based on a design by Carl Jakob and is a listed building .

history

The Wilmersdorf Adventist Church was founded in 1911. They first gathered for their church services in rented rooms on Kaiserallee and later on Güntzelstrasse. In the summer of 1925 the foundation stone was laid for the Advent house designed by Carl Jakob at Koblenzer Straße 3. The community center was inaugurated on January 22, 1927 . It was largely spared from damage during the Second World War . In the building and are managing the Berlin Adventist churches and Advent Welfare plant housed.

Building description

The t-shaped building complex is a reinforced concrete - skeleton . The facade of the six-storey front building is divided above the ground floor to the frieze below the last floor by four pilasters between two risalits . The large hall with over 1200 seats is located on the first floor. It extends from the facade of the front building, which also houses apartments and administration rooms, to the end of the structure , which protrudes into the depths of the property. The winter church was separated from it by a glass wall. Below the large hall is a small one that originally served as a weekday chapel. It was subdivided and now houses the Korean community.
