Afonso Fioreze

Afonso Fioreze CP (born June 1, 1942 in Rio Branco do Sul , Paraná ) is a Brazilian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Luziânia .

Life

Afonso Fioreze joined the religious community of the Passionists , made his profession on February 3, 1964 , and was ordained a priest on July 26, 1970 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop of Luziânia on November 5, 2003 . The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil , Archbishop Lorenzo Baldisseri , donated him episcopal ordination on February 15 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Pedro Antônio Marchetti Fedalto , Archbishop of Curitiba , and Washington Cruz CP, Archbishop of Goiânia .

With the resignation of Augustyn Januszewicz ' OFMConv on September 15, 2004, he succeeded him in the office of Bishop of Luziânia.

On July 12, 2017, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
