action

In a period reminiscent of the Middle Ages, the young harpunist Ishmael and his faithful companion Queequeg sit in a tavern and talk to an old man. They tell him they are dragon hunters and wanted to hire Ahab, the most famous of them. Ahab and his team hunt dragons in order to get the valuable dragon secretion Vitriol and sell it at a high price. But Ahab's real drive is different. As a child he lost his sister to a dragon attack and was badly burned himself and injured in one leg, so that he can only limp. He is obsessively looking for this very white dragon to get revenge on him. Together with his pretty adoptive daughter Rachel, whose father is said to have been killed by a dragon according to Ahab, the harpunist Stubb, his right hand Starbuck, the vitriol expert and cook Flask and the two newcomers, Ahab breaks into the snowy woods in an armored vehicle Dragon hunt.

Ahab tells his people about the white dragon, although they are not very enthusiastic about his obsession with revenge. When the first dragon is killed, Stubb is killed by its fire. After the group spotted a large crowd of around 30 dragons, Ahab gives orders to kill them all. After the dragons have been killed in their sleep, Ahab sees the white dragon and gives the order to abandon the slain and to pursue his intimate enemy instead. Ishmael wants to refuse this order. Ahab says he will not allow mutiny and then wants to put him in chains. Starbuck tries to kill Ahab from behind. However, he gets ahead of him and kills him with his own dagger. Ishmael is rehabilitated after some vitriol robbers have been stopped by Ishmael and Queequeg. When Flask tried to rape Rachel a short time later, he was stopped by Ishmael, escaped from the "ship" and was killed by the white dragon.

Ahab then locates the white dragon's den. Ishmael and Rachel, who have fallen in love, discover the mummified skeleton of Rachel's father in the cave with one of Ahab's harpoons in his back. In view of the facts, he has to admit that he killed him because he was a coward. Ahab hates cowards because he fled the dragon in a cowardly way when he attacked his sister. Rachel deliberately throws the harpoon just past Ahab and turns with Ishmael to leave. Ahab tries to knock Ishmael down from behind with his harpoon, but Queequeg arrives at this moment and warns his friend. Instead, Ahab kills Queequeq with the harpoon. Then the white dragon lands through a shaft in the ceiling of the cave. Ahab aims at him, gets tangled with his harpoon rope, and is carried away by the kite in flight. The old man's prophecy comes true that only one man will return to tell Ahab's story.

Reviews

"Unusual interpretation of the Moby Dick story, which is not only exposed to ridicule through mediocre special effects."

“It should not have escaped the reader, who is well versed in cultural history: You are once again turning Moby Dick through the meat grinder of a TV fantasy production that is entertainingly arranged for little money. What is even more astonishing about this cute trash film, in which the kite catchers roam through the area in a veritable land boat, is the celebrity cast. None other than Lethal Weapon Cop Danny Glover is the Ahab, and Vinnie Jones is its first officer. There was hardly any money left for good effects, but so do the others. "
