Agnes Grossmann

Agnes Grossmann (born April 24, 1944 in Vienna ) is an Austrian conductor .

Career

Grossmann is the daughter of the choir director Ferdinand Grossmann . First she studied concert piano (1964 to 1968 with Bruno Seidlhofer at the Vienna Music Academy , later at the Conservatoire de Paris ). From 1974 to 1978 she studied conducting again with Karl Österreicher and Günther Theuring at the Vienna University of Music, where she passed the Kapellmeister exam in 1978 . From 1983 on she was artistic director of the Vienna Singing Academy for three years . In 1986 she moved to Canada for ten years as chief conductor of the Chamber Players of Toronto (Toronto and Montreal). From January 1, 1997 to the beginning of 1998 she was artistic director of the Vienna Boys' Choir . She then went back to Canada, where she organized summer festivals and workshops at the University of Toronto 's Faculty of Music in the 2000s . From 2006 she also worked regularly in Taiwan . In August 2011 she performed with the Taiwan National Experimental Chorus and in December 2011 with the Taiwan National Chorus and Orchestra at the National Concert Hall Taipei . At the end of 2012 she performed with the Taiwan National Choir in the Koerner Hall of the Toronto Conservatory.
