Ahmed Mostafa El-Ahmar ( Arabic أحمد مصطفى الأحمر, DMG Aḥmad Muṣṭafā al-Aḥmar , born January 27, 1984 in Cairo ) is an Egyptian handball player . The 1.90 meter tall El-Ahmar, who plays for al Zamalek SC and plays for the Egyptian national team, is mostly used in the right backcourt .
Career
Ahmed El-Ahmar played in his homeland for al Zamalek SC , with whom he won the African CAHB Champions League in 2011 and Coupe d'Afrique des vainqueurs de coupe de handball in 2009, 2010 and 2011 . At the IHF Super Globe 2010 he was the top scorer with 41 goals in four games and at the IHF Super Globe 2011 with 37 goals in four games. In 2012 he was also one of the best throwers with 32 hits in five games. He then moved to Qatar and initially ran for Qatar Army. In the summer of 2013 he was signed by al-Jaish , with whom he again took part in the Super Globe 2013 (26 goals) and 2014 (28 goals). In February 2015, the left-hander was loaned by SG Flensburg-Handewitt to replace the injured Holger Glandorf until the end of the season. He won the DHB Cup 2014/15 with the SG . He then joined al Zamalek SC.
With the Egyptian national team , Ahmed El-Ahmar took part in the 2004 , 2008 and 2016 Olympic Games and the 2007 , 2009 , 2011 , 2013 and 2015 World Championships . In 2016 he won the African Championship in his own country with Egypt . In total, he played 402 international matches , in which he scored 1,378 goals.
