history
On June 10, 1980, FALINTIL fighters attacked several targets in Dili, including the weapons depot of B Company of the 744 Indonesian Infantry Battalion in Becora. As a result, residents of the outskirts of Ailok and Balibar were concentrated by the Indonesians in Fatu Loda (Balibar), where they had to live under strict security conditions until 1986. Several fatalities resulted from these restrictions. If you wanted to leave the zone, you had to report it to Babinsa (the military advisor in the local council). The exit was completely forbidden between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m.
politics
The by-elections for the new administration took place in May 2017.
