Meti Aut ( Metiaut ) is a place and East Timorese Suco in the administrative office of Cristo Rei ( municipality of Dili ). "Metiaut" means "coral reef" in Mambai .
The place
The place Meti Aut is on the Bay of Dili at the western end of the Sucos. There is a primary school here, the Escola Primaria Metiaut . Nobel Peace Prize laureate José Ramos-Horta lives in Meti Aut. Here he was seriously injured in the attack on February 11, 2008 .

2074 inhabitants (2015) live in the Suco, of which 1070 are men and 1004 women. The population density is 449.8 inhabitants / km². There are 283 households in the Suco. Almost 72% of the population name Tetum Prasa as their mother tongue. Almost 17% speak Mambai , 2% Makasae , minorities Kemak , Naueti , Galoli or Baikeno . Unlike most of the Administration Office's other sucos, Meti Aut is not defined as urban.
Before the 2015 regional reform, Meti Aut had an area of 4.89 km². Now it is 4.61 km². The Suco is located in the northwest of the administrative office of Cristo Rei, at the eastern end of the Bay of Dili. Until 2004, the Suco was still part of the Nain Feto administrative office . To the south are the Sucos Bidau Santana and Camea , to the east of the Suco Hera . The Dilis districts of Areia Branca (formerly Pasirputih , Pasir Putih ), Bekaril , 17 de Abril and Meti Aut lie along the coast from north to south . There is another primary school in 17 de Abril. At Cape Fatu Cama , the northern tip of the Sucos, there is the monumental statue of Jesus, Cristo Rei . The beach of Areia Branca , south of the Jesus statue, is a popular destination for residents of Dili. The small park Jardim Meti Aut is located on the coastal road in the west of the Meti Aut district .
In the suco there are the three Aldeias 17 de Abril , Carungu Lau and Fatu Cama .
politics
In the elections of 2004/2005 was Julião da C. Xavier elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections won Julio da Costa .
