Ain-Alar Juhanson

Ain-Alar Juhanson (born October 2, 1976 in Paide ) is a former triathlete from Estonia and multiple Ironman winner (2005, 2006).

Career

Juhanson started his first triathlon in 1991 and he became Estonian national champion in duathlon in 1994 at the age of 17 . In the autumn of the same year he survived the sinking of the Baltic ferry Estonia as a passenger .

In 2002 he started in the long distance triathlon (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling, 42.195 km running). Juhanson won the Ironman Lanzarote in Puerto del Carmen in 2005 and was able to successfully defend this victory in 2006. In 2008, Juhanson achieved the best cycling time of all athletes at the Ironman Hawaii.

Juhanson lives with his wife Evelin in Tartu and he works in sports management as an event organizer.
