The Ajozdsorski Mountains ( Russian Айоцдзорский хребет ; Armenian Զանգեզուրի լեռնաշղթա ; Azerbaijani Dərələyəz silsiləsi ) is a mountain range in the eastern Armenian plateau .
It runs in the border area between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Armenian province of Vajoz Dzor . The mountain range forms the watershed between the two rivers Arpa in the north and Naxçıvançay in the south. In the east, the Ajozdsorski Mountains border on the Sangesurkamm . It has a length of 70 km. In Mount Gogi it reaches a maximum height of 3120 m . In the western part, the mountains consist of sedimentary rocks from the Paleozoic and Mesozoic Era ( limestone , sandstone , quartzite , mica schist ). The eastern part, on the other hand, consists of sediments of volcanic origin from the Palaeogene and lava rocks from the Neogene . Mountain steppe and a mountain meadow landscape characterize the mountains.
