The film is a so-called user-generated content film, i. In other words, it was not the filmmakers themselves who recorded the film material; instead, everyone who felt called upon was asked to film their view of the Cologne Carnival during the lively days of the 2014 Carnival session and send it to the filmmakers. They then cut the finished film for around a year and a half from the over 500 hours of video material sent in.
