Querbeat is a 13-member Brasspop - band from Bonn . Initially known from the Cologne Carnival , the band has also appeared nationwide since 2017.

Querbeat was founded in 2001 by Erhard Rau, trumpeter at Köbes Underground , the band of the Kölner Stunksitzung , as a school band of the Kardinal-Frings-Gymnasium in Bonn-Beuel . Seven of the thirteen current members are former KFG students. After the band played mainly at city festivals in Bonn and the surrounding area in the first few years, they joined the Cologne Carnival in 2007 . This was followed by appearances at meetings and broadcasts on WDR television and on the radio, as well as two participation in the proclamation of the Cologne triumvirate . In the 2017/2018 session , the group had around 180 appearances in the greater Cologne area from November to February. Querbeat is a member of the KAJUJA and the regulars' table of Cologne Carnivalists.

Querbeat initially appeared in carnival with combinations of old carnival songs and pop and samba rhythms . In November 2010, the band released the EMI first single label Rhingtön Colonia Tropical , 2011 was followed by the single Allez Olé Alaaf , 2012 Stonn op un impedance and 2013. Hück or never . In 2014 the single Nie mehr Fastelovend was released . Also in 2014 the album Cuba Colonia was released , which consisted of cover versions of Cologne carnival songs in a Latin American style .

In 2016, the band's first album with self-written pieces followed under the title Fettes Q. As a result, the band became much more popular, in spring 2017 they started their first tour in Germany, in October of the same year they played three evenings in a row in the sold out Palladium in front of a total of 12,000 spectators. This concert was broadcast on WDR television and is available as a live DVD. The second tour through Germany in May 2018 was carried out for the first time in larger locations, many of which were sold out. In spring 2019, the band also made stops in other European countries on their tour.

The second album Randale & Hurra was released on October 12, 2018, on which the hip-hop duo 257ers and the reggae musician Gentleman have guest appearances. At the Parookaville Festival 2019, the live battle with the 257ers was one of the most spectacular performances. In December 2018 opened Querbeat with Luke Mockridge the 1 Live Krone , more television appearances had inter alia in the ARD television "in monitor you Let! Prism is a Dancer Show " by Jan Böhmermann , in the ARD telecast Ask nevertheless times the Maus , at Pufpaff's Happy Hour on 3sat and MTV Top 100 .
