Albano Benjamin Bizzarri (born November 9, 1977 in Etruria , Province of Córdoba ) is an Argentine football player . He plays in the position of goalkeeper .

Career

In the club

Bizzarri began his career at Racing Club Avellaneda in Argentina, where he played between 1995 and 1998. In the 1999/2000 season he moved to Spain for Real Madrid , for which he made his debut in the Spanish league on September 25, 1999 against Málaga .

At Real he could not claim the regular place in goal, and the following year he moved within the Spanish league to Real Valladolid .

In the late summer of 2001 there was a duel against his ex-club. This turned out to be strange: Before the game, Bizzarri gave a ticket on which he bet on eleven results, including a defeat of his team against Real Madrid. In the 70th minute of the game, a whistle sounded that did not come from the referee and visibly irritated the Madrid players. Valladolid took the chance to equalize 2-2 and defended this result until the end. Bizzarris joy was limited, so he guessed all games correctly - except for the result of his own team. As a result, he missed a profit of ten million euros. With the other ten correct tips, he won 90,000 euros.

At the beginning of the 2006/07 season, Bizzarri was signed by the newly promoted Gimnàstic de Tarragona . In June 2007, after the relegation of Tarragona to the second division, the Argentine goalkeeper moved to Serie A for Calcio Catania for free .

In the summer of 2009 Bizzarri moved to Lazio Rome . There he was only used in the Europa League for two years before he was between the posts at the beginning of the 2011/12 season. After two games he was replaced by Federico Marchetti .

After two years as a regular goalkeeper at Chievo Verona , Bizzarri moved to Delfino Pescara in 1936 in 2016 , where he also played most of the games, but was relegated with Pescara. In 2017 he switched to Udinese Calcio .

In the national team

He was nominated as a substitute goalkeeper at the 1999 Copa America .
