Albert Brochon

Albert Brochon (born September 2, 1899 in Thierrens , † March 17, 1990 in Moudon , legal domicile in Naz ) was a Swiss politician ( BGB ).

biography

Brochon attended secondary school in Thierrens and later the agricultural school in Champ de l'Air .

He was in 1921 in the founding of Vaud 's cantonal party Parti des artisans et indépendants (PAI, BGB) and was also mayor of Thierrens. From 1923 to 1949 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud. From 1943 to 1947 and from 1955 to 1967 he was a member of the National Council . He was also a delegate to the Council of Europe . He was also President of the Vaudois PAI and Vice President of the Swiss Civil Code.

In 1958 he ran for the State Council of the Canton of Vaud . In the second ballot, the Peasant Party joined forces with the Liberals for the first time - but it was not enough for a successful election. In the State Council elections of 1962, the alliance allied itself again and this time managed to bring a politician from the Peasant Party to the cantonal government. This was the beginning of the alliance with the Liberals, the so-called Entente vaudoise .
