Act

The work of Albert Schilling - he is considered an important innovator of sacred art - spans sacred and profane sculpture and the design of entire church interiors, among other things, he was commissioned to design the chancel in the Würzburg Cathedral . He also worked as a craftsman and made jewelry. Schilling, who worked figuratively until the 1950s, then increasingly turned to abstract designs. Many of his sculptures in public spaces are in Arlesheim. In 1960 he was able to make the altar, the baptismal font and the Madonna sculpture for the crypt of the Arlesheim Cathedral . In 2014 the descendants of Albert Schilling decided to donate their father's estate to the Art Collection Foundation of the Diocese of Würzburg.
