Albertus Elers

Albertus Elers , also Albert Elers , (born December 11, 1618 in Hamburg ; † May 3, 1680 in Lauenburg / Elbe ) was a doctorate German Evangelical Lutheran theologian, pastor and general superintendent , most recently for the Duchy of Saxony-Lauenburg from 1657 to 1680 .

Live and act

After studying theology and obtaining his doctorate, Elers was Lutheran general superintendent in Aurich and court preacher to Prince Ulrich II of East Frisia for nine years .

He was appointed General Superintendent for the Duchy of Saxony-Lauenburg by Duke Julius Heinrich (Sachsen-Lauenburg) in 1657 and committed himself to the Lower Saxony Church Ordinance on October 1, 1657.

His son Johannes Elers later became, like himself, general superintendent of Lauenburg, from 1703 to 1737.
