Albin man
Albin Eduard man (* 15. November 1883 in origin ; † 6. October 1960 in pouring ) was a Hessian politician ( Social Democratic Party ) and member of the parliament of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar Republic and after the Second World War mayor of casting.
Life
Albin Mann was the son of the bricklayer Christian Eduard Mann and his wife Wilhelmine nee Becher. Albin Mann, who had left the church, was married to Maria Elisabeth nee Peimann and her second marriage to Anna Elisabetha nee Foedt.
After attending primary school, Albin Mann trained as a bricklayer and worked in this profession until 1912. From 1909 to 1912 he was temporary workers 'secretary in Vegesack (Bremen) and from November 1912 until the Nazis came to power in 1933, managing director of the construction workers' association and the building trade union in Gießen. In 1914 he became chairman of the union cartel. From 1919 to 1933 he was a city councilor in Gießen and from 1921 to 1931 a member of the state parliament. In 1927 he became a member of the supervisory board of the consumer association and the building works. In the time of National Socialism he could not continue his political work. After the Second World War, he was Lord Mayor of Gießen from August 1946 to June 1948 and then retired. From 1948 to 1952 he was a city councilor in Gießen.
