Albrecht Fürchtegott Schultheiss

Albrecht Fürchtegott Schultheiss (born March 7, 1823 in Nuremberg , † September 14, 1909 in Munich ) was a German etcher and author , copper and steel engraver and draftsman .

Life

Schultheiss attended the trade school in Nuremberg and studied there with Peter Carl Geissler , later in Leipzig with LG Sichling and in Berlin . In 1850 Schultheiss settled in Munich and created a large part of his work here.

Works (incomplete)

“Schultheiss was a copper engraver and eraser valued in wide circles, a master of technically and artistically perfect engravings and etchings. His portraits of Schiller, Uhland and Brockhaus are considered to be the highlight of his work. "

Without further details, the Munich City Library states on its website about Albrecht Fürchtegott Schultheiss: "He received many honors for his work."
