Albrecht Kronenberger (born January 21, 1940 in Würzburg ) is a priest of the Diocese of Speyer and senior teacher emeritus in the church service, who became known beyond his home country for his work for the Christian Esperanto movement .

Life

As a boy he lived in Pirmasens and Germersheim , after completing his military service he studied philosophy and Catholic theology in Eichstätt , Frankfurt am Main and Speyer , where he was ordained priest in 1966 . He was a chaplain in Frankenthal and Bellheim and then from 1969 to 2002 a specialist teacher for the Catholic religion at the Leibniz Gymnasium in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse . He continues to live here after his retirement.

Services

As a student, he helped to create an exercise book on Latin shorthand , which Aloys Kennerknecht from Germersheim in Rome used to train the stenographers of the Second Vatican Council .

In the Bund New Germany , to which he has belonged since his high school days, he worked temporarily as the diocesan chaplain of the Catholic Students Youth ( KSJ ) in the diocese of Speyer and as the regional chaplain of the Community of Catholic Men and Women ( KMF ) in the Palatinate-Saar region.

For Palatine dialect poems he was awarded three times at the Palatinate Dialect Poets Contest in Bockenheim .

In the Catholic hymn book Gotteslob (1975) he is represented with a Gloria setting, in the Cantor book for Gotteslob with four compositions. His most recent musical contribution is a song about the blessed Paul Josef Nardini , for which church music director Ernst Leuze created two piano movements of different weights and two organ movements (with and without pedal).

Albrecht Kronenberger was at times textbook reviewer, board member of the clergy association of the Diocese of Speyer, delegate of LIGA-Bank, and is on the board of the PAX Association of Catholic Clerics .

From 1987 he learned the planned language Esperanto in self-study . He passed on his knowledge at his school in work groups and at project days. He is a co-founder of the Esperanto Working Group in the Diocese of Speyer (1991) and its praeses. In this capacity he regularly celebrates Esperanto services in the cathedral in Speyer, as well as in Stuttgart . In addition, he is repeatedly invited to ecumenical church services at Esperanto meetings, for example at the world congresses in Prague , Berlin , Zagreb and Gothenburg , at IKUE and KELI congresses in Germany and abroad. He is a member of the Ecumenical Commission of IKUE and KELI , the Catholic and Protestant Esperanto Association, and a member of both organizations himself. He is also a member of the Esperanto World Association (specialist delegate for Catholic religion), the German Esperanto Association, the Saarland Esperanto League, the Esperanto League Kurpfalz, the Friends of Villingen-Schwenningen , the International Academy of Sciences San Marino (AIS) , the OSIEK Association and the International Esperanto Teachers Association ( ILEI ).

Esperanto publications

On his computer he designed the ecumenical service book ADORU , published in 2001 , which contains 900 songs and chants from all over the world on 1472 pages in addition to many prayer texts. It is probably the first and only hymnbook in the world that combines models of worship from different denominations. The work was created in years of intensive collaboration with the now deceased Lutheran pastor Adolf Burkhardt from Weilheim an der Teck and the Catholic pastor Bernhard Eichkorn from Villingen . The team, which named itself after the main meeting point, Kloster Kirchberg , received the FAME culture award of the city of Aalen in 2002 .

Albrecht Kronenberger has also created many of his own song translations and adaptations as well as some original texts and melodies for ADORU .

He edited the new edition of the Esperanto Bible published in October 2006 and designed the Kantoj post ADORU song collection in 2009 as a special issue for the Espero Katolika magazine .

Occasionally he works on Vikipedio , the Esperanto version of Wikipedia. From 2007 onwards he discontinued all Latin breviary hynen in Vikifontaro, most of which he translated into Esperanto himself.

In 2009 he initiated the large Internet dictionary project German - Esperanto: projekto de-eo .

In September 2017, Gmeiner-Verlag published his book KANTU with over 350 Christian and over 40 non-religious songs in Esperanto.
