Albrecht von Sachsen-Weißenfels

Albrecht (also Albert ) von Sachsen-Weißenfels (born April 14, 1659 in Halle , † May 9, 1692 in Leipzig ) was a born prince and (titular) duke of Sachsen-Weißenfels and came from a sideline of the Albertine Wettins .

Albrecht was the fifth and youngest son of Duke August von Sachsen-Weißenfels and his first wife Anna Maria von Mecklenburg-Schwerin , daughter of Duke Adolf Friedrich I. von Mecklenburg-Schwerin .

Life

Because of his father's testamentary dispositions, Albrecht did not receive parts of his father's land like two of his older brothers, but only limited income from them.

Without a residence of his own, Albrecht held court with his in-laws in Wertheim and converted to the Catholic faith .

Prince Albrecht was accepted into the Fruitful Society by his father, who was its head . He was given the company name of the cheerful .

He died on May 9, 1692 at the age of 33 in Leipzig and, like his two daughters, was not buried in the family crypt of the Weissenfels Castle Church , but in Erfurt .

Marriage and offspring

His only marriage was on June 22, 1687 in Wertheim with Christiana Theresia von Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort , the daughter of Count Ferdinand Karls zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort from his marriage to Anna Maria von Fürstenberg-Heiligenberg , daughter of Count Ernst Egon VIII . from Fürstenberg-Heiligenberg . After Albrecht's death, his widow married Prince Philipp Erasmus of Liechtenstein .
