The Indian Empress is one of the 50 largest mega yachts in the world. The owner has been the Indian entrepreneur and politician Vijay Mallya since 2006 . In May 2018 the yacht was auctioned due to unpaid fees and salaries.

history

The yacht was built in 2000 by Oceanco in Alblasserdam for the royal family of Qatar built and as Al Mirqab put into service. In 2006 the company was sold to Vijay Mallya and renamed Indian Empress ( German  Indian Empress ).

In 2008 the Indian Empress was comprehensively overhauled by the Melita Marine Group in Malta and the interior was redesigned. As the team principal of Force India , Vijay Mallya uses his yacht for receptions at the Monaco Grand Prix and the former Turkish Grand Prix .

technical description

The hull is made of steel, the deck structure is made of aluminum and the upper deck is made of teak . The yacht of three is driven MTU - marine diesel engines 20V 1163 TB93, each with 7,400 kW acting on a propeller. The yacht reaches a speed of 25.5 knots . At a cruising speed of 18 knots, the range is 6,700 nautical miles .

Furnishing

The interior design reflects the Indian origin of the owner, whose suite occupies its own deck. There are 16 cabins available for guests on the Indian Empress . They are divided into eleven double cabins, three suites and two master staterooms .

The Indian Empress has a helipad and a loading ramp can accommodate two vehicles in a spacious garage . An extensive water sports fleet as well as complete diving and fishing equipment are available for leisure activities .
