Alcantara is a Filipino municipality and capital of the Romblon Province , in the administrative region IV-B, Mimaropa. It has 16,351 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census). It is classified as a fifth income class community in the Philippines and as partially urbanized .
Alcantara is located in the southeast of the island of Tablas , the topography of the municipality is characterized by flat, hilly terrain.
