Aleixo das Neves Dias
Aleixo das Neves Dias SFX (born August 5, 1944 in Calangute , Goa , India ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Port Blair .
Life
Aleixo das Neves Dias joined the Congregation of the Missionaries of Our Lady on the cob at and received on 21 December 1969, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On June 22, 1984, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Port Blair. The Archbishop of Ranchi , Pius Kerketta SJ , donated him episcopal ordination on January 20, 1985 ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Goa and Daman , Raul Nicolau Gonsalves , and the Bishop of Jamshedpur , Joseph Robert Rodericks SJ.
Pope Francis accepted his resignation on January 6, 2019, shortly before reaching the age limit for bishops.
