Aleksandar Mraović (* 24. February 1997 in Vienna ) is an Austrian boxer in the super heavyweight .

Amateur career

Aleksandar Mraović was born in Vienna and lived there until 2005 before moving to Bosnia with his family . Since 2009 he has been living in Vienna again, graduated from secondary school and then a technical secondary school. Then he switched to business school.

He started boxing in 2012 and played his first fight in April 2013. In November 2013 he was already Austrian Junior Champion. With only six fights experience he then took part in the Junior European Championships in Anapa and won a bronze medal in the heavyweight division. In 2014 he became Austrian youth champion and started at the 2014 youth world championships in Sofia , where he reached the second round. At the European Youth Championships in October 2014 in Zagreb , he won a bronze medal in the super heavyweight division. After becoming Austrian youth champion again in 2015, he also won a bronze medal in the heavyweight division at the European Youth Championships in Kołobrzeg in November 2015 .

In 2016 he won the Austrian championship title in super heavyweight. In March 2017, he started at the U22 European Championships in Brăila, Romania and reached the final of the against Stanley Koemans from the Netherlands (4: 1), Kamil Bodzioch from Poland (5: 0) and Aziz Mouhiidine from Italy (knockout) Super heavyweight, where he lost on points against Peter Kadiru from Germany (1: 4) and won the silver medal. In addition, Kadiru was counted in the first round.

At the 2017 European Championships in Kharkiv , he was disputed 3-2 against Alexei Zavatin in the round of 16. At the U22 European Championships in Târgu Jiu in 2018 , he lost this time in the first fight against Aziz Mouhiidine (1: 4). At the 2019 World Championships in Yekaterinburg , he was eliminated in the first fight against the Armenian Gurgen Hovhannisyan.

WSB

He was the first Austrian to take part in the World Series of Boxing (WSB) on April 20, 2017 and fought for the French team France Fighting Roosters . He lost on points against the Italian Olympian from 2016, Guido Vianello .
