Aleksander Kaszkiewicz
Aleksander Kaszkiewicz ( Belarusian Аляксандр Кашкевіч , Russian Александр Кашкевич ; born September 23, 1949 in Eišiškės , Lithuanian SSR ) is a Belarusian Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Hrodna .
Life
Aleksander Kaszkiewicz was ordained a priest on May 30, 1976 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Hrodna on April 13, 1991 . The Apostolic Administrator of European Russia , Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz , donated him episcopal ordination on May 23 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were Edward Kisiel , Apostolic Administrator of Białystok , and Juozas Preikšas , Apostolic Administrator of Panevėžys . As a motto he chose Jesus in te confido (Jesus, in you I trust).
From 2006 to June 2015 he was chairman of the Belarusian Bishops' Conference .
