Alessandro Sibilio (born April 27, 1999 in Naples ) is an Italian hurdler who specializes in the 400 meter distance .

Athletic career

Alessandro Sibilio gained his first international experience in 2016 when he won the gold medal in the hurdles in 51.46 s at the first European Youth Championships in Tbilisi , as well as with the Italian sprint relay (1000 meters) in 1: 52.78 min. He then started at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz with the 4 x 400 meter relay, but was disqualified there in the final. The following year, he won the silver medal at the U20 European Championships in Grosseto, his home country, in 50.34 seconds and won the relay in 3: 08.68 minutes. In 2018 he finished eighth at the U20 World Championships in Tampere in 52.38 seconds and won the relay in 3: 04.05 minutes. At the IAAF World Relays 2019 in Yokohama , he retired with the men's relay with 3: 03.97 minutes in advance and reached fourth place with the mixed relay in 3: 20.28 minutes. He then retired from the U23 European Championships in Gävle with 52.23 s in the first round and was disqualified with the relay in the final.

In 2019 , Sibilio became Italian champion in the 400-meter hurdles and in the 4-by-400-meter relay.
