Alessio Cerci (born July 23, 1987 in Velletri ) is an Italian football player .

Alessio Cerci started his career in the youth of AS Roma . On May 16, 2004, the 16-year-old midfielder, who prefers to act as a winger, made his debut in the game against Sampdoria Genoa for the capital city. In that season, this was his only appearance in Serie A. In the following two years he was only allowed to play very sporadically in the professional squad of AS Roma and only received three more league appearances until July 2006. For the 2006/07 season he was awarded to the second division side Brescia Calcio . In Brescia, he played 21 games, but could not score. In the following season he was awarded to AC Pisa , for which he was able to score ten goals in 26 games and reached the 6th place in Serie B with the team . in the 2008/09 season he continued to play 13 league games on loan for Atalanta Bergamo and then returned to Rome.

In the 2009/10 season Cerci was in the professional squad of AS Roma and came to appearances in Serie A and UEFA Europa League . In the away game at CSKA Sofia , he scored two goals. In August 2010, the midfielder signed for Fiorentina . For the 2012/13 season he moved to the newly promoted FC Turin .

On September 1, 2014, Cerci moved to the Spanish Primera División at Atlético Madrid . He signed a three-year contract with the reigning champions until June 30, 2017. After six appearances as a substitute, Cerci switched to Serie A at AC Milan on January 5, 2015 in exchange with Fernando Torres until June 30, 2016 on loan . A day later he made his debut for his new club in a 2-1 home defeat by Sassuolo Calcio when he came on for Michael Essien in the 65th minute .

In January 2016, however, his loan contract in Milan was terminated and he was awarded to the CFC Genoa .

In July 2017, Cerci finally moved back to Italy and joined Hellas Verona . With the newcomer he signed a one-year contract.

On August 18, 2018, Cerci moved to MKE Ankaragücü .

National team

Alessio Cerci went from U-16 to all of Italy's national youth teams. On November 16, 2007 he made his debut in the U-21 national team of the Squadra Azzurra under coach Pierluigi Casiraghi in the game against Azerbaijan and scored a goal. In summer 2009 Cerci was appointed to the Italian team for the U-21 European Championship in Sweden , but was not used in any game.

He made his debut for Italy's senior team on March 21, 2013 under Cesare Prandelli in the friendly against Brazil , which ended 2-2. As a result, Cerci was part of the national team and took part in the 2013 Confed Cup and the 2014 World Cup. In November 2014, Cerci played his last international match against Albania . He was last nominated in November 2015 by national coach Antonio Conte .
