Nillionaire , the second song on the EP, was particularly successful . Ingrosso also produced a bootleg version of Nillionaire and the song Together for him and Axwell . This version was often played by the members of the Swedish House Mafia at their appearances and thus helped Alesso to become known for the first time.

His breakthrough came in 2011 with his remix of the song Pressure by the Pakistani singer Nadia Ali , which was a big club and festival hit in 2011 and was often performed by well-known DJs such as Armin van Buuren , Tiësto , Kaskade , Calvin Harris and Swedish House Mafia was played. Kaskade described the song as "Tune of 2011". The remix also won the award for Best Progressive Track at the 27th International Dance Music Awards of the Winter Music Conference 2012. In 2011, Alesso entered the 70th place for the first time in the selection of the Top 100 DJs by DJ Mag .

Another great success was celebrated in 2012 with the track Calling (Lose My Mind) in collaboration with the also Swedish DJ Sebastian Ingrosso , who was a member of the Swedish House Mafia , and the OneRepublic front man Ryan Tedder . Together with the British dance-pop duo Hurts and the British house DJ Calvin Harris , he produced the song Under Control in 2013 . The track got him high chart positions in all European countries. The style of the song is very similar to the main part of his remix to OneRepublics If I Lose Myself and differs from the 80s music style of Hurts. The music video was uploaded a few days before it was released in Germany and shows the two DJs as well as the singer from Hurts, Theo Hutchcraft. The song could go high in all single charts.

In autumn 2014 he recorded a song with the also Swedish singer Tove Lo , who had great success with the song Habits (Stay High) in the same year . The Track Heroes (We Could Be) emerged from the cooperation . The music video that appeared parallel to the single shows both Alesso and Tove Lo.
