Alexander Fu Sheng ( Chinese  傅 聲  /  傅 声 , Pinyin Fù Shēng , Jyutping Fu 6 Sing 1 , born as Chang Fu-Sheng , 張 富 聲  /  张 富 声 , Zhāng Fùshēng , Jyutping Zoeng 1 Fu 3 sing 1 ; born October 20, 1954 in Hong Kong ; † July 7, 1983 ibid) was a well-known actor in Hong Kong cinema in the 1970s.

Life

Fu Sheng was born in Hong Kong, the second youngest of eleven siblings, to the wealthy real estate agent Chang Jen-Lung , and grew up in Hawaii . His younger brother Chang Chan-Peng also worked as an actor. He learned karate and judo at the age of eight and later applied to the Shaw Brothers drama school in Hong Kong, where he was signed up after completing his training. He began his career with small supporting roles until he was finally used in several youth films. Director Chang Cheh , who had already discovered stars like Jimmy Wang Yu and David Chiang , finally noticed him and cast him in martial arts films after six months of intensive training with master Liu Chia-Liang .

He became a celebrated star in the late 1970s. Unlike many of his predecessors, he had not only acting and fighting, but also comedic talent.

Chang Cheh, whose specialty was often founding actor duos (the first and most successful of which was formed by David Chiang and Ti Lung ), put the young actor Chi Kuan Chun at the side of his protégé Fu Sheng . The two harmonized well and stood in front of the camera in eleven films within four years.

On December 4, 1976, against the advice of relatives and friends, Fu Sheng married his long-time girlfriend, the well-known singer Jenny Tseng , who was also known as a presenter, actress and fashion designer and is still today. Groomsmen were Shaw actors Wang Chung and Lily Li .

On July 7, 1983, Alexander Fu Sheng died as a result of a serious car accident. His last role in the film The Death Staff of Shaolin (The Eight Diagram Pole Fighter) took over after his death, Gordon Liu . Despite his short life, Fu Sheng is considered one of the great actors in Hong Kong. Even today he has a large fan base all over the world.

Fu Sheng's standard voice in German films was Michael Ande .
