Alexander Hahn (politician)

Alexander Nicolai Hahn (born June 11, 1987 in Salem ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From November 2013 to March 2014 he was federal chairman of the FDP-affiliated youth organization Junge Liberale . From March 2012 he was a co-opted member, from December 2013 to April 2019 as an elected assessor on the federal executive committee of the FDP.

Life and work

Hahn was born in Salem, Baden, and grew up on Lake Constance . From 1994 to 2000 and from 2001 to 2004 he attended the Waldorf School in Rengoldshausen . Between 2000 and 2001 he was a student at the Schloss Salem School , from 2004 to 2006 he went to the Constantin Vanotti Business School in Überlingen and then from 2006 to 2009 at the local business school. Hahn passed his Abitur in June 2009 and was awarded the social prize by his school. In 2009 he began studying law at the University of Konstanz , then switched to the political and administrative science bachelor's degree in 2010, which he studied and completed in Konstanz and Potsdam.

Hahn works as an early stage investor at seed + speed Ventures .

politics

Hahn has been a member of the Young Liberals and the FDP since 2007. He was initially committed to the local authority in Überlingen, where he narrowly missed out on being a member of the city council in the local elections in 2009. From 2008 to 2009 he was deputy local chairman of the FDP and in 2009 founded a local group of Young Liberals. From 2008 to 2011 Hahn was a member of the state board of the Junge Liberalen Baden-Württemberg, between 2009 and 2012 deputy state chairman for press and public relations. In this function he also represented the interests of JuLis Baden-Württemberg in the FDP state executive from 2010 to 2012. In 2011 Hahn was elected as a member of the Federal Board of Young Liberals and was Deputy Federal Chairman for Press and Public Relations from 2012 to 2013. From November 2013 to March 2014 he was Lasse Becker's successor of the FDP youth association as national chairman.

In March 2014 Hahn declared that he did not want to run for the post of Federal Chairman of the Young Liberals again.

He received particular media attention with the “ APO 2.0” campaign by the Young Liberals in January 2014 after the FDP left the Bundestag in 2013. He was also regularly quoted in the media as an assessor in the FDP federal executive committee.
