Alexander King sample
Alexander King Sample (born November 7, 1960 in Kalispell ) is Archbishop of Portland, Oregon .
Life
The Bishop of Marquette, Mark Francis Schmitt , ordained him a priest on June 1, 1990 .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Marquette on December 13, 2005 . The Archbishop of Detroit , Adam Joseph Cardinal Maida , ordained him episcopal on January 25 the next year ; Co- consecrators were the emeritus bishops of Marquette Mark Francis Schmitt and James Henry Garland .
On January 29, 2013 Benedict XVI appointed him. to Archbishop of Portland, Oregon, and he was inducted into office on April 2 of that year.
Alexander Sample is a member of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem . In 2015 he was appointed Grand Prior of the Lieutenancy USA NORTHWESTERN by Edwin Frederick O'Brien , Cardinal Grand Master of the Papal Order of Knights.
