Alexander Rüdiger (born October 17, 1969 in Vienna ) is an Austrian television presenter , speaker, producer, author and entrepreneur. He became known to a larger audience through the TV show Money Maker on ORF . Since 2013 he has also appeared publicly in the field of extreme marathons and pilgrimages . Rüdiger also took part in the North Pole Marathon or the world's first volcano marathon in the Atacama Desert and made a pilgrimage of more than 5000 kilometers on the Way of St. James , about which he also gives lectures. He owns a consulting company in Vienna.

Life

Alexander Rüdiger is the son of a Prague dental technician and a Viennese master builder. He grew up in Ebenthal ( Lower Austria ). After the death of his politically active father, the twelve-year-old moved to Vienna with his mother.

In 1988 Rüdiger married Brigitte Prethaler, who became Missis Vienna in 1989. The marriage ended in divorce after 13 years. Rüdiger has a son who was born in March 2004 and currently lives in Vienna. In January 2020 he made his Parkinson's disease public, from which his mother had died in 2013.

Media career

In 1992 Rüdiger applied for the casting show Showmaster designed by Rudi Carrell and received the RTL Showmaster trophy as third place .

From 1994 he moderated numerous radio programs in the ORF regional studio in Lower Austria. He also worked as a warm upper for ORF and the RTL production of Ilona Christen .

In 1996 Rüdiger founded the PR and event agency Creative Entertainment.

From 2001 to 2006 Rüdiger was in the advertising window of ORF , Puls TV , Sat.1 , ProSieben , Kabel eins and DSF the TV face for the teleshop operator Media Shop, whose Austrian branch he also managed. He also moderated the TV travel show Urlaubreif .

2002 - 2003 he presented the drawing of the lottery numbers 6 out of 45 in the ORF 2 program.

Since 2007, Rüdiger has been the show master of the TV production Money Maker , which is broadcast daily for almost two months in the ORF -2 summer program. In terms of market share, the show is one of the most successful game shows on public television.

On August 24, 2019, the Kronen Zeitung caused a sensation with an article about Rüdiger, according to which he was facing bankruptcy. A canceled major running event in November 2018 in Vienna's Prater, which Rüdiger pre-financed on behalf of a Hungarian network company as the main person in charge, left him with unpaid bills of 150,000 euros.

Alexander Rüdiger is a brand ambassador for several companies, he moderates events and gives motivating lectures through his experience, which deal with topics such as adventure, motivation, passion and goal setting. His motto here is "Full of Life".

Pilgrims, endurance and extreme sports

2005 began Rüdiger with the pilgrims and has since all major St. James -Zubringern to Santiago de Compostela go. As an extreme marathon runner, he took part in international competitions such as the North Pole Marathon in 2013 and 2018 and in 2013 in the Atacama Desert in the world's first volcano marathon, which he also finished in 2nd place in 2018. In the Everest Marathon 2019, which took place in May in the Solukhumbu district, Nepal, near Mount Everest and is one of the highest and toughest races in the world with its starting point at 5365 m above sea level, Rüdiger achieved 4th place despite illness.
