Alexander Rauchfuss

Alexander Rauchfuss (born September 10, 1949 in Antonsthal , Erzgebirge ) is a German ENT doctor .

Life

As the son of an ENT doctor, Rauchfuss began studying natural sciences in the winter semester of 1969/70 , then medicine at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . In 1970 he became active in the Corps Palaiomarchia-Masovia . After completing the Physikum , he moved to the University of Graz and the RWTH Aachen . With a doctoral thesis with Henning Hildmann , he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD . He completed his specialist training as an ENT doctor with Burkhard Schlosshauer in Bremen. He switched to the ENT clinic at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf ( Claus Herberhold , Ulrich Koch) to turn to Karl Wittmaack's world-famous collection of microscopic specimens of the temporal bone . As a senior physician , he completed his habilitation with Werner Lierse . After his appointment as senior physician and C3 professor , he was elected chief physician of the clinic for ear, nose and throat medicine, head and neck surgery at the Caritas clinic St. Theresia in Saarbrücken in 1993 . The clinical focus was on surgery of the inner ear , oncology and plastic surgery . He retired in December 2013. The Corps Frankonia-Prag zu Saarbrücken awarded him the ribbon in 2016. Since 1989 he has been a member of the Academic Club in Hamburg .
