Alexander Tondeur (born July 17, 1829 in Berlin , † April 21, 1905 in Schöneberg ) was a German sculptor .

Life

Tondeur, son of the businessman Wilhelm Tondeur, attended the Berlin Art Academy from 1848 and was then trained by Gustav Bläser . After he stayed in Vienna from 1852 to 1854 , he continued his studies in Paris and in 1856 in Rome . In 1858 he began an extensive activity in Berlin, mainly in allegorical and mythological figures.

Alexander Tondeur was buried in the Friedrichswerder cemetery in Berlin-Kreuzberg .
