Ernst Alexander von Eschwege
Ernst Alexander von Eschwege , mostly just Alexander von Eschwege (born September 15, 1948 in Eschwege , Hesse ; † October 26, 2000 in Reichensachsen , Hesse) was a German film director .
Life
Eschwege began his career as assistant director in 1974 with Reinhard Hauffs Zündschnüren . He then worked as an assistant director or as an actor from 1976 to 1979 in a total of six other feature films and two television films. In 1979 he made his first own feature film , I am The Dead .
In 1980 he cooperated as a screenwriter and director with Alexander Kluge , Volker Schlöndorff and Stefan Aust on the production of the documentary "The Candidate", which was about the candidacy of CSU politician Franz Josef Strauss in the 1980 federal elections . Between 1981 and 1990 Eschwege made seven other television films and series. During this time he also appeared twice as an actor .
From 1991 to 1994 he was only active as a producer or co-producer of three films. From 1997 Eschwege taught at the German Film and Television Academy.
