Alexandra Urban

Alexandra Urban (born September 15, 1984 in Reutlingen ) is a German table tennis player . In 2012 she won the national ranking tournament .

youth

Alexandra Urban already achieved national and international success in her youth. Her first club was VfL Pfullingen. When she was eleven, she trained at the Böblingen regional base. She later moved to TSV Betzingen , where she played in the 1st Bundesliga in 1999 .

At the German youth championships, she took top places several times:

  • 1998: Third place doubles with Raffaela Kurz
  • 1999: Second place in doubles with Raffaela Kurz and second place in mixed with Andreas Ball
  • 2001: Second place in mixed with Andreas Ball
  • 2002: Third place in singles and second place in mixed with Andreas Ball

In 1999 she won gold with the team at the European Youth Championships. In 2002 she reached third place in this competition both in the girls' doubles together with Kristin Silbereisen and with the German team.

Adults

In the adult area, Alexandra Urban took several top places at the Baden-Württemberg championships. At the national German championships she came third twice, namely in 2002 in doubles with Raffaela Kurz and in 2004 in mixed with Jörg Schlichter .

In 2000 she moved from TSV Betzingen to SV Böblingen . From 2005 to 2011 she played at SV Neckarsulm , helped LTTV Leutzscher Füchsen to rise to the 1st Bundesliga in 1990 in the 2011/12 season before returning to Bundesliga club SV Böblingen in 2012.

In 2014 Alexandra Urban ended her career as a competitive athlete and moved to the TSV Gomaringen club, where she competes in the men's district class under her married name Schankula. A little later she went back to TSV Betzingen , in 2016 she won the championship of Baden-Württemberg.
