The Alexandria International Airport is a public airport in Louisiana in the USA , 7 km west of the city of Alexandria is located. The airport is operated by the "England Authority", which also markets the entire site of the former military base as the "England Economic and Industrial Development District". Despite the addition of "International" to the name, there are no international scheduled flights, but charter flights for the US armed forces overseas are operated from here. More military charter flights are said to be handled via Alexandria than via any other civil airport in the USA.

Prior to 1992, this facility was known as the England Air Force Base and was a major air force base established during World War II . The base was active until after the Cold War and was closed on December 15, 1992 and handed over to the current operator, who started civil flight operations in August 1993.
