Alexei Alexejewitsch Gwozdew
Alexei Alexeyevich Gvozdyovs ( Russian Алексей Алексеевич Гвоздев * April 27 . Jul / 9. May 1897 greg. In the village Bogucharovo at kireyevsk ; † 22. August 1986 in Moscow ) was a Russian civil engineer and university professor .
Life
Gwosdew studied civil engineering at the Moscow Institute of Transport Engineering, graduating in 1922. He then worked there as a lecturer and was awarded a doctorate in technical sciences . In 1927 he moved to the Central Institute for Industrial Plant Construction in Moscow and founded the first laboratory for reinforced concrete structures in the Soviet Union , which he headed until his death. In 1932 he became a lecturer at the Kuibyshev Military Academy for Engineers , where he was appointed professor in 1933. In 1936 he completed his habilitation (Russian doctorate).
From 1942 Gwosdew taught at the Moscow Institute for Building Research , where the systematic investigation of reinforced concrete structures began under his leadership . He participated in the development of the calculation of building structures for the highest loads. In continuation of Artur Loleit's work , he developed a general theory for the statics calculation of any type of construction, taking into account plastic deformation . He became a member of the Academy of Architectural Sciences of the USSR in 1956 . In 1957 Gwasdev's laboratory was assigned to the Moscow Research Institute for Concrete and Reinforced Concrete (today the Gwosdew Institute for Concrete and Reinforced Concrete), which had been formed as an independent sub-institute after the Central Institute for Industrial Plant Construction was split up in 1954. Gwosdev's students included SM Krylov , KW Mikhailov and RL Serych .
After Karl-Eugen Kurrer , his monograph from 1927 is the first Soviet publication on the path sizing method in structural engineering. His subsequent work on the basis of the load-bearing method also remained largely unknown in the West.
Gwozdev was buried in Moscow's Vagankovo Cemetery .
