Alexis Cervantes (born September 10, 1984 ) is a Mexican ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Mayan Astronomers in the Liga Mexicana Elite since 2010 . His younger brother Adrián is also a Mexican international.
Career
Alexis Cervantes began his career as a hockey player with San Jeronimo. When the semi-professional league Mexicana Élite was founded in 2010 , he moved to the Mayan Astronomers , one of the four founding clubs of the league. With the team from Mexico City he won the main round straight away, but lost the final series against local rivals Teotihuacan Priests after three games with 1: 2 wins (0: 5, 5: 4, 1: 2).
International
In the junior division, Cervantes was on the ice for the Mexican U20 selection at the World Championships in Division III in 2002 and 2004 and in Division II in 2003 .
With the men's national team , Cervantes took part in the World Championships of Division II in 2003 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2012 and 2013, and Division III in 2005 . He was also on the ice at the 2014 Pan-American ice hockey tournament, in which he and his team took second place.
