Alfons of Bram

Alfons Bram , knight of Bram since 1916 , (* July 21, 1865 in Augsburg ; † January 28, 1951 ibid) was a German major general in the Reichswehr .

Life

Bram joined on 25 August 1884 as an ensign in the 3rd Infantry Regiment "Prince Charles of Bavaria," the Bavarian army and became on 16 April 1885 Ensign appointed. On March 7, 1887, he was promoted to second lieutenant and on November 6, 1894 to prime lieutenant . As such, Bram was commanded from October 1, 1895 to September 30, 1897 for the 1st Engineer Battalion. On October 28, 1901, Bram became a captain and as such, from December 11, 1901, company commander in the 21st Infantry Regiment "Grand Duke Friedrich Franz IV. Of Mecklenburg-Schwerin" . With the outbreak of the First World War , Bram was appointed commander of the 2nd Battalion, with which he was used in the battles near Badonviller , in Lorraine , Nancy and Épinal . After the regimental commander had fallen, Bram was charged with the command on September 25 and promoted to lieutenant colonel on October 26, 1914 . He gave up command on December 15, 1914, briefly took over the 5th Infantry Regiment "Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig von Hessen" and was then appointed Commander of the 8 Reserve Infantry Regiment on February 17, 1915. After the fighting on the Somme , Bram came to the Carpathians with this regiment .

His promotion to colonel took place on April 17, 1917. As such, Bram was again commander of the 20th Infantry Regiment on September 25, 1918.
