Alfred Semrau

Alfred Semrau (born April 24, 1882 in Marienwerder , West Prussia , † July 18, 1947 in Greifswald , Western Pomerania ) was a German Protestant theologian and politician. From 1923 to 1928 he was a member of the People's Day of the Free City of Danzig , and President of the People's Day from 1926 to 1928.

From 1901 Semrau studied Protestant theology in Erlangen, Halle (Saale) and Königsberg . After his ordination in 1905 he worked in various parishes in West Prussia, including from 1917 to 1931 at the Christ Church in Danzig-Langfuhr . From 1931 to 1945 he was pastor at the Stettin St. Peter and Paul Church , city superintendent of Stettin and consistorial councilor . He was a member of the German Christians . After the Second World War, Szczecin came to Poland, so that its activity in Szczecin ended; In 1946 he was formally retired.

Semrau received in 1925 from the University of Königsberg , the honorary doctorate .
