Alfredo Petit Vergel

Alfredo Víctor Petit Vergel (born July 24, 1936 in Havana ) is a Cuban clergyman and auxiliary bishop emeritus in San Cristóbal de la Habana .

Life

Alfredo Petit Vergel was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of San Cristóbal de la Habana on December 23, 1961 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Buslacena and auxiliary bishop in San Cristóbal de la Habana on November 16, 1991 . He was ordained episcopate on January 12, 1992 by the Archbishop of San Cristóbal de la Habana, Jaime Lucas Ortega y Alamino ; Co - consecrators were Faustino Sainz Muñoz , Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Cuba , and Pedro Claro Meurice Estiu , Archbishop of Santiago de Cuba .

On February 26, 2016, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
