Alin Florin Cioancă , (born April 1, 1995 ) is a Romanian cross-country skier .

Career

Cioancă participated in junior races until 2015. His best placings at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2013 in Predeal were 23rd place in the sprint and ninth place with the mixed relay and at the Junior World Ski Championships 2013 in Liberec 49th place over 10 km freestyle and 18th place with the relay. In March 2013 he started in Predeal for the first time in the Balkan Cup and finished seventh over 15 km freestyle and fifth over 10 km classic. At the 2014 Junior World Ski Championships in Fiemme Valley , he achieved 92nd place over 10 km classic and 52nd place in sprinting and at the Junior World Ski Championships 2015 in Almaty 72nd place over 10 km freestyle, 59th place in skiathlon and the 31st place in the sprint. The following year he ran at the U23 World Championships in Râşnov on 48th place over 15 km classic, 26th place over 15 km freestyle and 20th place in the sprint. In the 2016/17 season he came in 47th place over 15 km freestyle at the U23 World Championships 2017 in Soldier Hollow , 31st place in the skiathlon and 25th place in the sprint and at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti on the 74th place over 15 km classic, on the 57th place in the sprint and on the 22nd place together with Petrică Hogiu in the team sprint. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he finished 47th in the sprint, 43rd place over 15 km freestyle and 18th place together with Paul Constantin Pepene in the team sprint. Previously he was sixth in the sprint at the U23 World Championships in Goms in 2018 . In March 2018 he won his first victory in the Balkan Cup in Pale over 10 km freestyle.
