Since 2007, Hoglu has mainly competed in the Alpine Cup and the Balkan Cup . He achieved his first podium finish in January 2008 at the Balkan Cup in Fundata with second place over 15 km freestyle. In the 2008/09 season he came in the Balkan Cup twice in second and twice in third place and thus reached second place in the overall standings. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2010 he surprisingly won silver in the 20 km pursuit race. At the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , he finished 57th in the 15 km freestyle and 17th in the team sprint together with Paul Constantin Pepene . He reached 80th place at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 . He ran his first World Cup races at the beginning of the 2010/11 season in Kuusamo at the Nordic Opening, which he finished with 124th place in the sprint and 105th place over 10 km freestyle. In the further course of the season he achieved six second places in the Balkan Cup and reached third place in the overall ranking of the Balkan Cup. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , he achieved 84th place in the 15 km freestyle and sprint and 18th place in the team sprint. In the 2014/15 season he took three thirds and two second places in the Balkan Cup and reached third place in the overall Balkan Cup at the end of the season. His best placings at the season highlight of the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun were 52nd place in the skiathlon and 17th place in the team sprint. The following season in January 2016 he finished third at the Balkancup in Gerede over 5 km classic. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti he came together on the 76th place in the sprint at the 52nd place in the 50 km mass start race and on the 22th place with Alin Florin Cioancă in the team sprint and the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol on 84th place in the sprint, 70th place over 15 km classic and 20th place together with Raul Mihai Popa in the team sprint. In the 2019/20 season he won the overall ranking of the Balkan Cup with five wins and one second and two third places.
