Alisyn Camerota (born June 21, 1966 ) is an American television journalist . She hosts the morning program New Day on CNN .

Life

Camerota grew up in Shrewsbury , New Jersey . She earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from American University in Washington, DC. She then worked on various television networks in Boston and Washington, as well as on America's Most Wanted . She has been with Fox News since 1998 . There she first worked as a correspondent in Boston. Since 2007 she has been one of several presenters on the weekend edition of Fox & Friends , Fox News' breakfast show . She also appeared occasionally on the weekday and other formats of the station.

In mid-2014, Camerota switched to CNN , where she hosts the morning show New Day with John Berman . She mainly reports on political issues and conducts interviews. She also reported on important local events, such as the terrorist attacks in Brussels and Paris and the attack on a synagogue in Pittsburgh .

After joining CNN, Camerota commented on Fox's work environment, the sexual harassment by Roger Ailes and his interference with journalism to please conservative viewers.

Camerota processed her long experience as a journalist and presenter in a novel "Amanda Wakes Up", which was published in 2017.

Camerota is married and has three children. She lives near New York City .
