Alive is the third album by Belgian singer Kate Ryan . It was recorded in the first half of 2006 and was released on September 15th in Belgium. In the chart values, the CD made it to number 13 in Belgium. Internationally , however, it was far behind in terms of the charts compared to its predecessor Stronger .

After Kate Ryan in 2005, much had to struggle with eating disorders, they decided in late December return to the music business again, so that two months later, on 20 February, in Belgium their comeback - Single Je t'adore appeared. This was a complete success there, because in the fourth week of sales the single was number one in the single charts and stayed at the top for a total of five weeks, just like in Poland . Due to the great success Kate took part with Je t'adore in the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 and won. So she was sent to Athens , where the song contest took place, but missed the semi-finals by seven points. Despite the defeat, work on a new album has already started. In August , the second single was released, titled Alive . Commercially, the song did well in Belgium, but not so well in the rest of Europe ( only 42nd in Germany ). At the same time, fans were asked to find a name for the new album and send it in. Alive was chosen as the title from the entries . In November, the third single All for You was released. However, this could no longer match the success of its predecessors and landed for the first time outside the top thirty in 37th place. This is probably due to the extremely unusual music video , which was heavily criticized in Belgium. Kate Ryan then terminated the contract with EMI-Belgium and also her management and signed with ARS Entertainment (a sub-label of Universal ).
In spring 2007 a special edition of the album was released in Poland. In addition to the album tracks on a CD, this also contains a DVD with all previous video clips (except Scream for More ). The DVD also contains a picture gallery.
On October 6, 2007, Ryan held her first live concert under the title Alive at the Sportpaleis in Antwerp . She sang numerous songs from her career, such as Désenchantée , Je t'adore and also some new songs (for example Voyage voyage , see Free ) with her live band, with whom she has been performing for a year and a half.

In terms of style, you notice a clear difference in the dance pop area compared to its predecessors . In terms of charts, one noticed the dwindling of the mass suitability, nevertheless this album is described in some fan circles as Kate's best so far. As with the predecessors, the actions are largely attributed to the theme of love , which is due to the frequent "you address". As on the previous ones, the long player contains a ballad , but also a gypsy-like song called Stepping Out , which seems a bit unusual next to the other dance songs .

The version published in Germany, Austria and Switzerland only contains the French-language versions of the songs Je tʼadore , Alive and All for You , as well as only the English-language version of Combien de fois ( How Many Times ). Instead, the songs Désenchantée , Libertine and La Promesse are included , as well as the music videos from Only If I , Libertine and La Promesse .
