Aljaksandra Anatoljeuna Hisels ( Belarusian Аляксандра Анатольеўна Гізельс , Russian Александра Анатольевна Гизельс Alexandra Anatoljewna Gisels , English transcription : Aleksandra Gizels8. February 1995 in Homel ) is a Belarusian billiards player , in the billiards variant Russian billiards compete.

The greatest successes of the third place in the World Cup so far in 2015 and 2018 include winning the 2017 final tournament in the Free Pyramid World Cup and three Belarusian championship titles.

Life

Aljaksandra Hisels, who was born and raised in Homel , studied at the Belarusian University of Economics in Minsk and has lived in Saint Petersburg, Russia , since 2017 . In addition to her active career, she also works as a trainer, blogger and billiard commentator.

Career

Hisels first took part in the European Youth Championship in 2008 and played two years later for the first time in the World Youth Championship . She achieved her first major success in March 2011 when she reached the semi-finals at the European Youth Championships , in which she lost 4-0 to Ukrainian Julija Nesterova . A little later she won at the Women's World Cup against former world champion Olga Milowanowa , among others , before she was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Diana Mironowa . After she reached the final at the Prince Open in Moscow in the summer , in which she was defeated by Diana Mironova 5-0, she won the bronze medal at the Youth World Cup after losing to Jekaterina Lepinskaya in the semi-final . This was followed by her first participation in the Women's Free Pyramid World Cup , in which she was eliminated without a win, and in the Kremlin Cup , in which she surprisingly made it to the semi-finals and finally lost 4-2 to Natalja Sedych .

At the beginning of 2012 she achieved further good results. So she won against Julija Raschetnikawa (4: 3) for the first time a tournament of the Belarusian Cup and reached the semi-finals at the European Youth Championship and the Moscow Mayor's Cup . The second half of the year, however, was less successful, Hisels took part in five international tournaments and was eliminated each time in the preliminary round, including the World Cup, in which she won a preliminary round game for the first time, and the Kremlin Cup in 2012 . In October 2012, the 17-year-old became the Belarusian adult champion for the first time with a 3-0 final victory by Kazjaryna Dorohan .

In 2013 Hisels reached the quarter-finals at the European Youth Championship and defended their national championship title 4-1 in the final against Kazjaryna Perepechayeva . At the Adult World Cup, she reached the quarter-finals for the first time, in which she lost to her compatriot Wijaleta Klimawa . She came into the same round a little later at the Minsk Open and the Youth World Cup , at the Kremlin Cup she made it to the semi-finals for the second time and lost to Diana Mironova. In December 2013 she reached the final of the Prince Open and was again defeated by Diana Mironowa (1: 5).

In the first half of 2014 Hisels achieved some successes on a regional level and made it to the quarter-finals of the Mayor's Cup in Moscow, but was eliminated in the World Cup and the European Championship 2014 in the preliminary round. In autumn she reached the semifinals of the Minsk Open and the final of the Belarusian championship and lost each to Kazjaryna Perepechayeva. In November 2014 she failed in the semi-finals of the Kremlin Cup for the third time, this time to Tatiana Maximowa (4-5). After she was eliminated at the World Cup in the round of 16, she moved into the final at the Prince Open, in which she had to admit defeat to Russian Yekaterina Lepinskaya 4: 5.

Hisels reached the final at the 2015 World Cup opener and lost to Kristina Saltovskaya (3: 5). Shortly thereafter, she moved into the final of the Belarusian championship in the Free Pyramid for the fourth time in a row, in which she won her third title by beating defending champion Kazjaryna Perepchayeva 4-3. After she was eliminated in the round of 32 at the Moscow Mayor's Cup and had reached the quarter-finals at the European Free Pyramid Championships , she took part in the world championship in the dynamic pyramid discipline in Imatra, Finland for the first time in October 2015 , in which she retired with an opening defeat against Yevgenia Scheldina in the round of 16. In November she moved into the final of the World Cup final and lost 5-2 to Diana Mironowa. A week later she won a medal for the first time at the Free Pyramid World Championships in Tomsk when she reached the semi-finals, in which she lost 2: 5 to the eventual world champion Maria Pudowkina .

At the beginning of 2016, Hisels reached the final at the superfinal of the World Championships , an invitation tournament in Jugorsk with the four best participants from the 2015 World Championships, in which she won a set against Diana Mironova, but ultimately 1: 2 (3: 0, 1: 3 , 1: 3) lost. A little later, she won her first medal at the Belarusian championship in the combined pyramid discipline , after being eliminated in the semifinals against Kazjaryna Perepechayeva. In the same year she also took third place in the Free Pyramid after failing in the semifinals to Anastassija Baurova . In May 2016, Hisels reached the final at the Kijewskije Kaschtany in Kiev and lost to Anastassija Kovalchuk (2-4 ). At the Free Pyramid World Cup in 2016, she was eliminated in the round of 16. The 2016 World Cup didn't go well for Hisels at first, she only made it to the quarter-finals in the Moscow Mayor's Cup; at the final tournament, however, she finally moved into the final again, in which she had to admit defeat to Elina Nagula 3: 5.

In April 2017 Hisels took part in the Combined Pyramid World Cup for the first time, but suffered a first-round defeat there. Later in the year she reached the semi-finals of the Moscow Mayor's Cup and the quarter-finals of the Kremlin Cup and lost each to Olga Milovanova. In November 2017, she made it into the final of the World Cup final for the third time in a row. After two defeats in previous years, Hisels prevailed against Kristina Guds 4: 2 and won a world cup tournament for the first time.

At the beginning of 2018, Hisels made it into the finals twice. While she had to admit defeat to Russian Diana Mironova 0: 4 at the World Cup opener in Moscow, she prevailed 3: 0 at the Baltic Women Cup in Vilnius against Lithuanian Alina Olševskaja . After that, however, she was eliminated early on several times, including at the 2018 Dynamic Pyramid World Cup in the preliminary round. It wasn't until September that she made it back to the last sixteen at the Kremlin Cup . At the end of the year she won her second bronze medal at the Free Pyramid World Cup in Tyumen , when she defeated Natalija Kornewa and lost 5-0 to the record world champion Diana Mironova in the semifinals.

In February 2019, the first tournament of the newly introduced Baltic Pyramid League was held in Vilnius . Hisels came there as the second best woman in the round of 32, in which she was defeated by the Latvian Lubov Parizere . At the World Cup in the Combined Pyramid, she reached the quarter-finals and lost to Elina Nagula. A week later she made it to the semi-finals of the World Cup in the same discipline and lost to Diana Mironova. After she was eliminated in the preliminary round at the Mayor 's Cup in Moscow, last year's third Hisels at the Free Pyramid World Cup in Cholponata did not make it past the preliminary round for the first time since 2012. At the Kremlin Cup 2019 she reached the round of 16.

At the beginning of 2020, Hisels was eliminated from the preliminary round of the Baltic Pyramid League tournament in Tallinn .
